Come celebrate! You definitely do not want miss this amazing class! Students who know the Bikram series are encouraged to come. With the exception of the drums, the class will be silent, so study the series before class!

26postures

Drums alter vibrations all around. By simply changing the vibrations around our environment, we can change the vibrations in our heart in mind. You can also take a look at a recap of our last drum class.

After I graduated college, September lost that magical back-to-school feeling. Now that I am several years removed from the back-to-school mayhem, I wonder - what is September for?

blue star

For some September means Labor Day. Others are celebrating Virgo birthdays.

For many others, September offers a total renewal. Around the world, there are practices to honor this renewal. For example, many observe Rosh Hashannah - an intense period of reflection and focus.

Yet, this renewal does not occur only on this day. There is preparation throughout the month.

While Rosh Hashannah offers a New Year, I am personally focusing on this time as the ‘HEAD’ of my Year. This gives me the space I need to focus on where my mind may be weak, and where I have erred. Instead of the usual guilt, this period of reflection will give me insight into where I can keep working to improve.

Next time you hit a block in your practice, welcome the obstacle with a breath. An obstacle is merely an opportunity for improvement. May your September bring insights into your practice of daily living.

This summer, she put together this very interesting list to help us gain awareness about dehydration.

#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
(Likely applies to half the world population.)

#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak
that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as 3%.

#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs
for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of
Washington study.

#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of
water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain
for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term
memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on
the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of
colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast
cancer by 79%. , and one is 50% less likely to develop
bladder cancer.
